Peace Be With You, Hon!

Had to go to the Wine Source at lunch for Chez Finnerin’s weekly stock-up of Zeke’s Coffee and Alcohol. I felt my mood lifting as the prospect of a happy hour buzz always makes me feel better. While driving, I started flipping through the radio stations, as there was yet another deep, meaningful, atmospheric rip-off of Coldplay on WTMD. Usually my radio station browsing is limited to WTMD and NPR because Yes, I am THAT sort of liberal east coast yuppie. But today I landed on 98Rock and damned if they weren’t playing “More Than Words” by Extreme. You read that right “More Than Words” – go ahead start singing, because I know you know every word just like I do. Now, I know that 98Rock likes to bring the rawwwwkkk, but come on, Extreme?!? There is a lot of great rawwk that has been written in the past 15 years, but apparently the program manager at 98Rock stopped listening in 1996.

After my always pleasant Wine Source experience, I decided to cross the street to Red Tree, one of my favorite all time stores, and a place I avoid like the plague because I have never left there empty-handed. I should especially not go there when I’ve just been paid, because I am like a junkie looking for a fix, a fix of some unique home furnishing, piece of jewelry, or ironic gift and Red Tree always delivers, at prices that do not require a hunger strike.

As always, I walked out of Red Tree a bit more poor, but my mood elevated through the roof! Nothing like a spontaneous purchase - of a purse even! - to make me feel like the world is a much prettier place. So here is a photo of my booty - a great new spring bag by Love Shine and two wonderful green glass shot glasses, becuase Ryan and I realized recently, much to our dismay, that we did not own ANY shot glasses. And that was a shame. So these are pretty shot glasses and I have been wanting to start purchasing some green glassware to go in our kitchen for a while. May as well start with shot glasses, right?
