Much to Ryan's delight, Rusty got home yesterday happy and healthy, if only a little drugged up.
He is shaved and stitched and bruised in the nether regions, but happy to be home with his friends. Ryan said when he picked him up yesterday he came prancing out and had a sniff at everyone before he left, so I don't even think he was too traumatized by the vet. I'm sure we were far more traumatized than he was.
(happy to see you!)
Here is his bald belly and stitches from the hernia removal:
Luckily, he didn't have to get the conehead. We just have to watch him to make sure he doesn't lick too much or get pee on the sutures.
We gave him a pain pill around 7 last night, and he was really tripping, I think. He was sleeping on my stomach with his legs straight up in the air. Occasionally, he would wake up, groan, and roll around a bit, tuck his head between my head and the couch and go back to sleep.
(how can you ignore this face? don't you want to feed me some yummy snacks?)
