Bruce Brucestofferson

I heart my dog.
I miss him when he is away from me.
He is the biggest cuddly love-bunny. I know I've said this before in this space, but I did not know that I would be getting such a lap dog. Maddie, my last dog I had, was extemely independent, and while she loved to be petted and brushed, she was more like a cat, it was on her terms.

Russy, however, is a different story. He likes to be touched, be on laps, put his head on your shoulder, staring deeply into your eyes. His eye contact sometimes borders on the creepy. There are times at night when I've been alone in the house and I swear he's trying to tell me something, like Lassie. 'Oh, little Timmy's in the well you say? Well onward!"

But I digress...
Even Ryan's dad noted that Bruce likes human contact. He may be sitting on the floor, but it is right at your feet, or his head is on your recently discarded slipper. He likes to sit on the back cushion of the couch - even though he is now too big - right between Ryan and I.

So of course, when we returned from vacation, he required lots of attention. Even the cat, normally above interaction with a lowly dog, couldn't resist rubbing up against him for a while, and kissing noses. I actually think the cat missed him! Russy is good for the cat, he has definitely slimmed down since Russ moved in, due to the several times a day process of being jumped on and chased around the perimeter of the living room, ending in a leap to the back of the armchair. He keeps the cat on his toes. And occasionally they both curl up in bed with me -- easily the happiest moments of my existence, when my little family is curled up snoozing on the tempurpedic.
